Municipal Applications - Monthly Job, December 2002
Job:
A recent break in a San Antonio sewer line required the repair of 24- and 42- inch pipes that collapsed due to soil erosion. Godwin Pumps was called on an emergency basis to assist with the major line break. Working around the clock, Godwin set up the necessary bypass system, so that repairs could commence as soon as possible. A section of the bypass included the suspension of a discharge line over the creek. Nearly a mile of discharge line was completed in less than 17 hours. Two Godwin CD225 8-inch Dri-Prime pumps and 4,900 feet of pipe handled flows up to 2 mgd.
